We have experience in installing LED lighting and electrical cabling in a diverse range of environments. So, when we were approached by the Bradbourne RDA Group (Riding for the Disabled Association) to replace the lighting in their indoor riding arena, reception area and move the lighting in the pony shelter we knew we had all the expertise needed to meet the project brief.

Bradbourne RDA Group is a registered charity  (1122480), run totally by volunteers, working to give children and adults across the spectrum of disabilities the opportunity to ride or carriage drive. This experience invariably provides huge benefits to their general health and well-being.

This equestrian environment had a number of specific challenges; the indoor riding arena had a very high ceiling and was only available for a brief window of time due to being in continual use. Additionally, the original lighting was old, not LED and, due to the height of the ceiling, it was hard to reach to replace or clean the fittings. As a result, the light in the indoor equestrian area was very dull.

NCS Technology replaced the old lighting with new energy-efficient LED fittings and upgraded all of the cabling just in time for the change in season.

“We are absolutely delighted with the lights, and as the weather has been distinctly dark, damp and dreary for much of the past week, the brighter lights are already proving to be invaluable. ” Sarah Fenn Chairman of Trustees

A small change can make a considerable amount of difference!

The pony shelter had a couple of poorly positioned lights which meant head torches were becoming part of everyday life, finding a pony in the gloom is relatively easy, trying to do buckles or adjust equipment, much less so. It was a simple job to replace the cabling and move the lights to a better position. Tacking up the horses is now a much easier task for everyone at the yard.

The final part of the project was to replace the lighting in the reception area with an energy-efficient lighting solution. As with the majority of businesses, the reception is the first place staff, volunteers and visitors enter when they arrive. Providing a well-lit space creates a more positive and brighter start to any visit no matter what the weather outside or the kind of day people are having.

As a registered charity every penny really does count. “The reductions in electricity bills will also be extremely welcome and our Treasurer is looking forward to reporting the savings in due course!” Sarah Fenn,  Chairman of Trustees. Bradbourne Riding School for the Disabled
