The Brief / challenge
Blackheath Library is a busy, one level, building in the heart of a busy community. There were a number of lighting issues which were causing significant problems for staff and visitors.
Light levels were too low, making it difficult for some users to access the resources that the library had to offer. Additionally, there had been numerous maintenance callouts for the fluorescent tube fittings, which were dated and had brittle internal wires. As a result, there were numerous different fittings and fluorescent tubes installed throughout the building.
